Program Overview: Join Dr Florence Gabriel and Dr Rebecca Marrone for a practical, research-informed workshop focused on understanding and responding to maths anxiety in primary and secondary students.
Learn how maths anxiety develops, how it impacts learning and performance, and how it manifests in real classrooms. Explore the long-term effects of early negative experiences, the role of self-concept, and the influence of teacher beliefs and family partnerships on student outcomes. Most importantly, gain evidence-based strategies to build student confidence, reduce fear, and create maths classrooms where all students feel safe to take risks. Walk away with practical tools you can use immediately to support anxious learners and foster a more positive maths culture.
This workshop is designed for F–12 mathematics teachers, leaders, inclusive education teams, and SSOs committed to creating safe, supportive, and successful learning environments.
