Financial Management in an Independent School – a Workshop for New and Established School Board Members

Presented by John Somerset, CEO of Somerset Education, this workshop is tailored for School Board members and will focus on effective financial management for schools. This will include information on what a School Board member needs to know, what to look out for, financial performance indicators and understanding budgets.

This workshop is particularly useful for those new to the School Board and those wishing to improve their financial literacy.

John Somerset has practiced in chartered accounting for over 30 years, with the past 25 years dedicated to the financial health of non-government schools. Qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce, University of Queensland and a Masters by research at Queensland University of Technology on his passion – financial sustainability of schools.

Registration for this workshop will include a fee of $200.00 plus GST per participant. This fee is invoiced after the first session and is payable even if you do not attend on the day as the AISSA will still incur costs. If notice of cancellation is received before 9 May 2020 the fee will be waived.
