14th August, 2024 @ 9:00 am

14/08/2024 - 9:00 am - 12:30 pm

We invite educators to join our transformative professional learning workshop series dedicated to empowering schools in their mission to support First Nations students as they navigate the Primary and Secondary years of schooling. This program supported by Kaurna Elder, Aunty Elaine Magias, is designed to equip educators with the knowledge, tools and strategies needed to foster success among First Nations students and create a culturally inclusive learning environment.

This workshop series will guide educators and support staff through a process of evaluation and co-design to harness the collective wisdom of the education sector and community. Participants will explore a range of critical areas including:

  • Supporting Smooth Transitions: learn effective strategies for helping First Nations students and their families to transition through the various stages of the Primary and Secondary years.
  • Cultural Knowledge Integration: discover how to draw on cultural knowledge and competency to enhance student learning experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories.
  • Effective Student Support Strategies: gain insights into evidence-based student support strategies that can have a significant impact on the academic and personal development of First Nations students.
