Program Overview: The Professional Standards for Middle Leaders (Middle Leader Standards) have been developed to recognise and support the vital role of middle leaders in schools. These practical Standards support professional growth and leadership development and are now available for use in schools across Australia.
In collaboration with AITSL, the AISSA invites schools to join a 12-month implementation pilot of the Middle Leader Standards. Participating schools will:
- receive support to develop middle leader capability and implement the standards
- help shape how the standards strengthen middle leadership
- provide insights into the professional learning resources middle leaders need most.
What’s involved?
- launch workshop: One-day, face-to-face session for current middle leaders
- implementation support: Practical advice and approaches from AITSL
- online self-reflection tool for current and aspiring middle leaders
- ongoing learning: Up to five online workshops
- feedback: Principals and leaders provide input through surveys and focus groups.
Program Lead: please contact Julie Tarzia or Natalie Jonas.
