Access and Belonging: Best Practice within the Disability Standards for Education (DSE) and Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)

20th March, 2023 @ 9:00 am

Date/Time:

20/03/2023 - 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Description:

Successful engagement with the practical and legislative aspects of the Disability Standards for Education (DSE) and Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) relies upon best practice in the field of inclusion of students with disability. These workshops intend to build staff capacity to effectively and appropriately facilitate the inclusion of students with diverse needs in their school contexts.

Over two full day sessions and one Zoom session, and with the support of Inclusion Consultant Loren Swancutt, inclusion leaders will consider how relevant school structures and practices may best underpin and ensure intentional planning, consultation and documentation. They will engage with new and emerging themes and practices, be supported to review practice and plan for improvement, and build capacity to lead staff in best practice.

In 2023, workshops will provide opportunity to engage in the following areas:

  • designing and improving clear, supportive and fit-for-purpose documentation
  • increasing clarity in planning and recording of adjustments
  • proactive approaches to selecting and maintaining evidence of adjustments and
  • facilitating positive and collaborative consultation.

This is a series. By registering you are committing to attending the following sessions:
