Program Overview: This session examines how risk management applies to school camps and excursions, where staff face heightened responsibilities for student safety, duty of care, and compliance. Participants will learn to apply a structured process—identify, assess, control, and review—to the challenges of off‑site learning.
The seminar covers supervision planning, staff capability, medical and behavioural risks, emergency procedures, fatigue, and post‑camp evaluation. It also clarifies staff legal obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA), the Education and Children’s Services Act 2019 (SA), and sector guidelines.
