SUMMARY:Principles of Risk Management in Schools: Camps and excursions
DESCRIPTION:This session provides school leaders with comprehensive strateg
 ies to manage risks associated with school camps and excursions\, ensuring
  compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA). Participants wi
 ll gain the ability to systematically identify\, evaluate and mitigate 
 potential hazards while upholding their duty of care obligations. By the
  conclusion of the session\, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge

 cal insight into how the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) (DDA) an
 d Disability Standards for Education 2005 (DSE) apply to enrolments\, susp
 ensions\, expulsions\, and related complaints. Participants will explore t
 heir legal duties to ensure students with disability are treated fairly\, 
 supported appropriately\, and not unlawfully discriminated against. The se
 minar also explains the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) complain
 t process and uses a case study to highlight lawful vs. unlawful decisions
 \, focusing on reasonable adjustments\, consultation\, procedural fairness
 \, and documentation.\n\nLearning Outcomes:\n\nApply Risk Management Proce

 havioural\, medical\, logistical)\n 	assess risks using likelihood/consequ
 ence frameworks and prioritise controls\n 	implement measures: supervision

 feWork SA\, and sector guidance\n 	prepare staff to manage medical issues\
 , allergies\, medications\, and behavioural incidents\n 	conduct effective
