Principals and ELC Directors series: Meeting Obligations in Inclusive Education

31st May, 2023 @ 4:00 pm

Date/Time:

31/05/2023 - 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Description:

Principals and ELC Directors navigate complex responsibilities and decision-making processes in inclusive education. These workshops enable Principals to clarify obligations, consider risk management and identify best practice in enrolment, behaviour, health, and attendance.

The workshops intend to support principals and ELC directors to confidently and strategically action administrative and educational practices within their schools which reflect a clear understanding of relevant obligations, current funding processes and best practice in inclusion. Workshops will include recommendations regarding policy and related documents.

Topics covered include:

  • Challenging student behaviour: obligations, risk management and best practice approaches
  • Enrolment: students with disability and diverse needs
  • Student attendance: responding to poor attendance and refusal
  • Health and medical support: enrolling and supporting students with complex medical needs

Post workshop, participants are invited to elect an area of interest and continue planning their journey of improvement with the presenters.
