Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) Network Meeting Term 3
13th August, 2024 @ 10:00 am
Date/Time:
13/08/2024 - 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Description:
The OSHC network meetings provide a forum for provocation and discussion that responds to current sector issues. Leaders and educators will come together to engage collaboratively in ways to invigorate and enrich practice in OSHC environments. They will deeply consider the wellbeing, capabilities and curiosities of individual children and young people and ways that dynamic and inclusive OSHC settings promote child agency in their play, leisure, and learning.
My Time Our Place (MTOP) Framework v2 and the National Quality Standard, will guide and support participants to engage in group discussions relating to current issues at local and national levels. We will explore the eight principles of MTOP that reflect contemporary theories and research concerning children’s agency and place-based and relational pedagogies. Educators will consider ethical, socially just, and inclusive principles for children and young people’s wellbeing, learning and development when they:
- build secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships
- develop partnerships
- are respectful of diversity
- embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives
- commit to equity, inclusion and high expectations
- consider sustainability in all its forms
- engage in critical reflection and professional learning
- exercise collaborative leadership and work as a team
