OSHC Educators’ Network meeting 1
18th February, 2020 @ 10:00 am
Date/Time:
18/02/2020 - 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Description:
The OSHC Educators’ Network is structured for OSHC leaders and educators from our member schools to engage collaboratively in ways which invigorate and enrich practice. It provides a forum for provocation and discussion and facilitates a community of practice approach to ongoing professional learning. Implementing the My Time Our Place Framework and the National Quality Standard, participants will have the opportunity to visit and tour OSHC services and engage in rich group discussions relating to current research on educational theories and practices, focused topics and other questions and issues raised.
The first meeting in 2020 will focus on one of the Exceeding Themes: Practice is shaped by meaningful engagement with families and/or the community. This theme recognises that best practice is informed by and tailored to the unique strengths and needs of children, families and the community. Key areas for discussion will include:
- practice reflects the voices and strengths of children, families and the community
- practice demonstrates shared decision-making and problem solving with families and/or the community.
- practice suits the unique environmental, cultural and community context of the service
- practice fosters a culture of inclusiveness.
