Description:

The 2020 Webinar Series and 2021 Conference aims to bring together educators from the Early Years to Year 12, researchers and industry to consider new thinking and possibilities and explore how STEM education can provide students with new opportunities and pathways for a strong and vibrant future.

We are very excited to be offering a webinar series featuring well know experts in the STEM field:

Mr Gawain Duncan
Immanuel Primary School
Primary focus

Central to a trans-disciplinary approach to learning are inquiry questions. These questions underpin student investigations. This session looks at ways of supporting students to generate key questions and strategies for integrating them with relevant achievement standards within curriculum frameworks such as the Australian Curriculum. Several STEM student examples along with assessment rubrics will be shared to demonstrate the process.

Engaging learners through technology has been the focus of Gawain’s work for the last 30 years. Gawain has led many state-wide professional learning initiatives. A recent example includes the Department’s STEMWorks project which concentrated on the creation and use of 147 flexible STEM learning spaces. Gawain also managed the Department’s education consultation on the development of the technology curriculum for ACARA.

Gawain currently leads Learning Technologies at Immanuel Primary School.
