Legal Series: Protective Practices and Managing an Allegation in the Community

17th September, 2020 @ 4:00 pm

17/09/2020 - 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

The overarching principle in responding to any allegation of a  breach of child protection is to ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of any child who may be at risk of harm. Schools must investigate all allegations against any member of their community according to the following principles:

  • procedural fairness
  • privacy and confidentiality
  • integrity
  • timeliness.

This session will assist schools to understand their rights and obligations regarding managing allegations of breaches of protective practices.
