Leadership in the Early Years

12th March, 2024 @ 9:00 am

Date/Time:

12/03/2024 - 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Description:

This series of four workshops will address the current challenges of leadership in the early childhood sector. The expectation and demands for early childhood leaders are changing across a range of areas, including staff management, service operations and pedagogy. We will look at how early childhood leaders can be supported to grow professionally in a space that has been and continues to be a current and major issue for debate.

Participants will engage with a range of research, resources, and tools to build leadership capabilities and competencies in leading self and others. You will explore and use the AISSA Innovation Mountain, a tool to identify and develop a case for change in response to current needs and demands within the early childhood sector and what is pertinent to your school and ELC context.

Key focus areas in the workshop series include:

  • the art of listening
  • paraphrasing

  • courageous conversations
  • styles of leadership
