Instructional Coaching Series: Leading and Scaling Coaching Teams

14th May, 2024 @ 9:00 am

Date/Time:

14/05/2024 - 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Description:

A successful coaching culture cannot operate in isolation. It is effective when it is situated within the broader aim of strengthening the school’s eco-system for learning. This program will support schools to build and/or strengthen a coaching culture within their community through adopting an instructional coaching philosophy and approach into their organisational culture.

This program welcomes both newly formed and existing teams entrusted with the leadership of coaching within their school (Coaching Leads). Coaching Leads will become integral members of a collaborative network, working in tandem with fellow educators and notable industry authorities, such as Dr. Mark Dowley, Brighton Grammar School and Angela Phillips, Westminster School. Professor Mary Uhl Bien, the BNSF Endowed Professor of Leadership at the TCU Neeley School of Business in Texas, will explore the concept of complexity leadership theory, serving as the cornerstone for participants’ crafting of responsive and adaptable change processes.

Coaching Leads will use the AISSA Coaching Maturity Framework to plan for:

  • Partnering with and leading their team
  • Building their coaching culture
  • Collecting data and evidence of impact
  • Developing consensus about teaching and learning

In addition to the two full day sessions, coaching teams will be supported to progress their plans at school through access to their own personalised coaching conversations.
