Designing and implementing inclusive curriculum requires an understanding of the purpose and principles of inclusive education, knowledge of the design and intent of the Australian Curriculum, an understanding of differentiation and adjustments, and intentional actions that drive equitable learning experiences across grade-level content for each and every learner.

Loren Swancutt is an experienced teacher, school leader and system level advisor who has worked with many primary and secondary schools across Australia to advance inclusive education practices. Loren brings a high level of currency and credibility to the work of inclusive reform, and possesses a unique ability to interpret and translate theory and research into achievable and sustainable practice.

Loren has partnered with the AISSA to develop a professional learning course that is designed to provide an introduction into a series of topics that support the development of the foundational knowledge and practices needed to plan and implement inclusive curriculum provision.

This course provides a series of four modules covering the following topics:

  • Introduction to Inclusive Education & Inclusive Curriculum Provision
  • The Australian Curriculum & Student Diversity
  • Developing Universally Designed Units of Study & Assessment Tasks
  • Providing Substantial/Extensive Curriculum Adjustments

Price: $550.00 (GST inclusive) per school (maximum of 20 schools)

Registration:
Principals interested in obtaining a licence for their staff to access this online professional learning should contact Rae Dawkins. Schools will then be asked to provide a list of participant’s names and contact details. Once this has been received, schools will be emailed acceptance of enrolment and will have a period of up to 12 months to access and complete the training modules.
