Australian Curriculum v.9 Familiarisation and Implementation
22nd February, 2023 @ 9:00 am
Date/Time:
22/02/2023 - 25/09/2023 - 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
Description:
This four-year project aims to support independent schools of South Australia with the roll out of the revised Australian Curriculum v.9 (AC v.9) Years F-10 across the eight learning areas. This project will provide support through workshops and focus groups (health checks) in 2023 and 2024, and through continued learning and planning support in 2025 and 2026.
Face to face support:
In semester one 2023 a ‘leading leaders to lead’ model of professional learning was offered to school leaders with core responsibility for curriculum implementation and the development and leadership of teaching, learning, assessment and reporting practices.
These face to face whole day workshop focussed on:
- an exploration of the implications of the revised AC v.9 for schooling and the implementation and enactment of the curriculum through teaching and learning programs
- an investigation into changes and revisions in connection to the three dimensions of the AC v.9
- workshopping of the interactivity of the new AC v.9 website and of resources
- protected time to map and plan bespoke school approaches for familiarisation and implementation of the AC v.9 (across all stages of schooling and in all eight learning areas) with support from AISSA Senior Educational Consultants and teacher experts.
In-school training videos:
Attendance at face-to-face meetings is the recommended first option for schools interested in participating in this practical and hands-on project. However, to support schools unable to attend face-to-face workshops, a suite of pre-recorded training videos is available.
This suite includes eight, 35 to 40-minute training videos, one for each Learning Area: English; Health and Physical Education; Humanities and Social Sciences; Languages; Mathematics; Science; Technologies; and The Arts.
The videos can be viewed on the Australian Curriculum page.
Health checks for continued support
In semester two, stage of school/learning area health checks will be offered through an online platform to schools who have participated in whole day face to face workshops in semester one, or to schools who have viewed the in-school training videos. These health checks will provide ongoing support in relation to the leadership of this work in schools. Further strategies and resources to support familiarisation, implementation and the monitoring and evaluation of this work will also be shared in these health checks.
Registrations for this project can be made by completing this form.
Attendees are asked to register for all sessions they wish to attend, applicable to their context:
