The Future of Educational Leadership: Five Signposts

7th April, 2022 @ 4:00 pm

Date/Time:

07/04/2022 - 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Description:

This webinar, led by Valerie Hannon, will explore and reflect on the nature of leadership required at this pivotal time in human history: an era of significant threats as well as immense possibilities. To indicate the direction that leadership should take, Valerie offers five ‘signposts’ for discussion. These are the development of a co-developed narrative; ecosystemic engagement; responsible commitment to experimentation; a relentless campaign to drive equity; and the evolution of futures literacy. Valerie believes these signposts will be pivotal in promoting new forms of educational leadership that can take our schools confidently into the future.

Valerie Hannon is a global thought leader, inspiring systems to re-think what ‘success’ will mean in the 21st century, and the implications for education. The co-founder of both Innovation Unit and of the Global Education Leaders Partnership, Valerie is a radical voice for change, whilst grounded in a deep understanding of how education systems currently work. Valerie is the 2020 author of the Australian Learning Lecture on the Future School and author of Thrive: the purpose of schools in a changing world.
