SUMMARY:Wellbeing webinar - Professor Donna Cross
DESCRIPTION:Professor Donna Cross has previously presented to AISSA member 
 school leaders and board members and returns to share her recent research 
 findings from the DETECT Schools Study. This study used survey data from o
 ver 20\,000 Years 4 - 12 students\, 1\,000 staff and nearly 3\,000 parents
 \, to evaluate their wellbeing during Terms 2 – 4\, in the context of th
 e 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.\n\nThis presentation will describe both positive
  and negative wellbeing outcomes during this time and the actions schools 
 can take to support the wellbeing of all school staff which importantly wi
 ll also help support students’ wellbeing.\n\nA Professor with the Facult
 y of Medicine\, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Western
  Australia\, and Head of the Health Promotion and Education Research team 
 at the Telethon Kids Institute\, Donna leads 32 researchers who develop an
 d test strategies to improve children’s and adolescents’ wellbeing\, w
 ith a focus on mental health and social-emotional wellbeing.\n\nDonna has 
 an international reputation for developing school and community-based inte
 rventions to enhance social and emotional development and reduce anti-soci
 al behaviour among young people. She is currently a lead investigator on s
 everal longitudinal research projects developed to promote wellbeing and p
 revent bullying\, cyberbullying and associated mental health harms among A
