DESCRIPTION:This session provides a comprehensive overview of your
 school’s obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act and their
 application to staff recruitment and performance management. Participants
 will gain practical guidance on implementing lawful
 and equitable practices that accommodate the adjustment needs of
 employees with recognised disabilities. The program also addresses
 strategies for fostering a workplace culture that prioritises inclusion and

 5:00pm.\n\nProgram Overview: This session will provide school leaders with
 a practical understanding of their obligations under the Disability
 Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth). The session explores how the DDA applies to
 all aspects of the employment and on-going management of staff in
 schools. \n\nParticipants will gain insights into creating inclusive
 employment practices that meet legal requirements\, while also promoting
 equity and wellbeing. A case study will be used to clarify the boundaries
 between lawful and unlawful actions. \n\nBy the end of this seminar\,
 participants will be able to: \n\n 	understand the key provisions of
 the DDA and related laws and how they apply in schools\n 	distinguish
 between direct and indirect discrimination in employment\n 	understand when
 differential treatment may be lawful\n 	identify examples of reasonable
 workplace adjustments and understand how to assess requests while
 documenting the decision-making process appropriately\n 	 apply the DDA
 principles in recruitment\, performance management\, and return-to-work
 processes to avoid common pitfalls that lead to discrimination
