Description:

For Primary Curriculum and Learning Leaders and their Teacher Teams

Highly effective professional learning is collaborative and engages teams of teachers in focusing on the needs of their students. It expands teacher knowledge and skills and strengthens practice.  These workshops are designed for leaders of learning in primary schools and teams of their teachers where the intention is that improving teacher practice through improved learning design, quality assessment and collaborative moderation will be a whole school focus beyond 2018.

Learning Design is a framework that supports quality learning and teaching in all contexts. Central to quality learning and teaching are the principles of assessment. Assessment, within an effective learning design, provides evidence which informs both learners and teachers equally.

This workshop series supports primary leaders of teaching. Effective learning design involves:

  • the student at the centre of learning
  • principles of assessment
  • principles of learning and teaching
  • classroom pedagogy and practical application.
