The AISSA provides information and support for teachers in Independent Schools in SA who are seeking to become certified as a Highly Accomplished or Lead teacher (HALT).
Participation in a series of three workshops is now a prerequisite for anyone applying for certification. It is intended that applicants attend these workshops in sequence over a 1 or 2 year period while preparing their Stage 1 evidence collection. The workshops provide support and advice as well as an opportunity to meet with other aspiring applicants and successful HALTs.

Introduction to applying for Certification as a Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher: requirements, suitability, the process and collecting evidence of impact (colleagues and/or students) against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
Aspiring Highly Accomplished and Lead teachers who are eligible and have the support of their Principal to apply for certification. Mentors and Principals are welcome to attend Workshop 1 to gain an insight into the Certification process.
There is no charge for the workshops however an individual application for certification will incur a cost of $1825 payable to AISSA in the following 3 stages:
$125 – Application Fee
$850 – Stage 1 (paid when Stage 1 evidence is submitted)
$850 – Stage 2 (paid prior to Stage 2 school visit if successful at Stage 1)
