The AISSA provides information and support for teachers in Independent Schools in SA who are seeking to become certified as a Highly Accomplished or Lead teacher (HALT). A series of three ½ day workshops will be offered from 2019. It is intended that applicants attend these workshops in sequence usually over a 1 to 2-year period whilst preparing their Stage 1 evidence collection. The workshops provide support and advice as well as an opportunity to meet with other aspiring applicants as well as some successful HALTs.
Completion of all three is now a pre-requisite for application.
Workshop 1: Introduction to applying for Certification as a Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher: requirements, suitability, the process and collecting evidence of impact (colleagues and/or students) against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
Workshop 2: Meeting the Professional Writing Requirements: annotations and written statements
Workshop 3: Collating your Evidence, Classroom Observations and Referees
Aspiring Highly Accomplished and Lead teachers who are eligible and have the support of their Principal to apply for certification. Mentors and Principals are welcome to attend Workshop 1 to gain an insight into the Certification process.
Workshop 1 Tuesday April 2 4pm to 6.30pm
Workshop 2 Saturday May 11 9am to 12pm
Workshop 3 Saturday June 22 9am to 12pm
All workshops will be offered again in Semester 2 and again in 2020
There Is no charge for the workshops, however, an individual application for certification will incur a cost of $1825 which will be paid to AISSA in 3 stages:
Application Fee – $125
Stage 1 – $850 (paid when Stage 1 evidence is submitted)
Stage 2 – $850 (paid prior to Stage 2 school visit if successful at Stage 1)
