SUMMARY:Taking Care of Yourself So That You Can Take Care of Others -
 Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Practical Steps for School Leaders\n\nThe AISSA presents
Kristen Douglas\, National Manager and Head of headspace Schools\, the
National Youth Mental Health Foundation. The challenges and uncertainty of
2020 highlighted the importance for teams and individuals to undertake
practical steps and processes to help themselves and their teams
 recalibrate\, re-energise\, re-balance\, and refocus on the
future.\n\nBuilt on principles of recovery and reflection\, this webinar is
aimed at providing school leaders with practical strategies for leading
through complex events and experiences to: -\n\n acknowledge and process
experiences and create a healthy supportive narrative going forward\n
offset stress and focus on 2021 with a new vista.\n\nWhen school
communities have been impacted by an event\, be it short term or
prolonged\, it’s important to go through an articulated and guided stage
of processing in a strengths-based\, positive\, and considered way. This
means processing the experience\, processing the impact\, processing the
disruption\, and ensuring we celebrate the gains and achievements.\nKristen
Douglas is the National Manager &amp\; Head of headspace Schools (the
Australian Youth Mental Health Foundation). headspace is contributing to a
national ground swell of conversations and strategies to ensure that
education staff take care of their own mental health and prioritise their
wellbeing.\n\nKristen specialises in Education Executive &amp\; School
Principal mental health\, school staff self-care\, and the impact of
critical incidents in school communities.\n\nKristen is a highly respected
and in-demand presenter on the topics of mental health and wellbeing across
all school communities. She has significantly contributed to the synergy
between education and mental health\, combining her experience as an
educator and principal\, with her passion for mental health and
 wellbeing.\nTarget audience: School leaders\n\nDelivery mode:
