SUMMARY:The Power of Cognitive Verbs
DESCRIPTION:Assisting Students to Become Better Learners\n\nTeaching
 academic vocabulary explicitly and then applying the vocabulary in the
 classroom to improve student outcomes has a solid research base. (Bellanca
 2012\, Marzano 2013\, QCAA 2018).  Students explicitly taught the skills
 and processes of cognitive verbs are better equipped to meet syllabus
 objectives and demonstrate their learning through
 assessment.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nIn this focused and practical workshop educators
 will know\, understand and be able to use the most frequently used
 cognitive verbs in the Australian Curriculum Achievement Standards.
 Educators will develop a cognitive verb progression of their own choosing
 that can be used for formative assessment with students. The use of
 cognitive verbs in designing effective questions and assessment tasks will
 also be explored.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nThe workshop will be informed by the
 Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) Cognitive Verb
 Toolkit (2018)\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nTarget Group \n\nTeachers Foundation to Year
 10\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nThere is no on-site parking available.  For parking
