SUMMARY:Positive Behaviour Support: Prevention and Intervention\, session 1

DESCRIPTION:Day 1\, 7 May\n\nA full day workshop\, hosted by the AISSA and 
 presented by psychologists Kerry Burke and Lisa Chisholm\, will explore st
 udent behaviour through a developmental lens. The workshop will focus on:\
 n\n 	social and emotional development\, particularly in school-age years\n
  	effects of trauma and adverse life events\n 	supportive classroom practi
 ce and strategies for both typically developing students and those requiri
 ng additional supports.\n\nPresenters: Kerry Burke and Lisa Chisholm\, Psy
 chologists\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nDay 2\, 21 October\n\nA full day workshop provide
 d to teachers and school leaders\, focusing on fostering proactive\, posit
 ive behaviour strategies and supports within schools from the everyday cla
 ssroom through to intervention. The workshop will consider practical actio
 ns and responses in the educational setting\, with consideration to the le
 arning from Day 1 in the series. Topics covered include:\n\n 	positive beh
 aviour support\n 	response to intervention\n 	functional behaviour analysi
 s\n 	individual behaviour support plans.\n\nPresenter: Melissa Symonds\, A
 ISSA\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nParticipants will increase their capacity to understand
  and apply current research and evidence-based strategies in a contextuali
 zed manner\, proactively supporting positive behaviours.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nTar
