SUMMARY:Partnerships Through Play: Mastering the Art of Connecting Play and
 Curriculum
DESCRIPTION:This workshop series will shine a spotlight on the subtle
 nuances of children’s play and the critical importance of play and
 play-based learning as a leading research-based pedagogy. Each workshop
 will reflect what it means to teach\, learn\, and play outside the box with
 practical and playful master classes providing participants with curriculum
 connections to support children’s creativity and their natural curiosity
 about the world.\n\nParticipants will identify and act upon opportunities
 for strengthening pedagogical partnerships with the Australian Curriculum
 v9 and the Early Years Learning Framework v2. They will explore practical
 ways these two documents can be used side by side to support educational
 teams to plan and implement continuous learning for children in their
 preschool years and in their transition to formal schooling.\n\nWorkshop 1
 - The Language of Play\nWe will identify characteristics used to define
 playful learning through the lens of neuroscience. Curriculum spotlight -
 playful approaches to Maths through outdoor learning and play.\n\nWorkshop
 2 – The Hidden World of Play\nWe will explore play personalities and how
 we can use knowledge of these in learning environments to identify
 intrinsic motivators. Curriculum spotlight - playful approaches to English
 and Inquiry based learning through outdoor learning and play.\n\nWorkshop 3
 – Parenthood and Play\nWe will explore playful futures\, the link between
 play states and flow states. Curriculum spotlight - playful approaches to
 STEM\, HASS\, Design and Technology and Digital Technology (outdoor coding)
 through outdoor learning and play.\n\nWorkshop 4 – The State of Play for
 Wellbeing\nWe will explore wellbeing in nature\, nature journaling and
 reimagining beyond the gate experiences. Curriculum spotlight –
 wellbeing\, play and nature connection.\n\nAt the conclusion of this series
 of workshops\, participants will return to their educational sites
 with:\n\n 	A statement about play to share with parents and community.\n
 	An introduction to literature and conceptual models that explore the
 neuroscience of learning through play.\n 	Ideas to bring play to life
 outdoors\, with provocations and invitations to play for all play
 personalities.\n 	Morning routines that support positive transitions into
 the learning environment.\n 	A series of activities that gives children
 simple language to articulate links between learning and play.\n 	An
 understanding of wellbeing through play – what does the research tell us
 and what are our children showing us.\n 	A toolkit to identify play
 personalities and ways to use this information.\n 	Approaches to
 inquiry-based learning – how to do more\, with less.\n 	Maths and
 literacy outdoor learning and play resource book.\n 	STEM and HASS outdoor
