Effectiveness of inductio n programs increase as the range of supports and strategies provided incre ase\, with the best induction programs including practice-focused mentorin g\, leadership contact\, participation in collaborative networks\, targete d professional learning\, observation and reflection on teaching\, practic al information and time allocation.\n\nOf all the induction strategies ava ilable\, practice-focused mentoring\, by one or more expert colleagues\, i s particularly powerful in supporting the transition of a teacher from the Graduate to Proficient career stage.\n\nThe 2021 program is intentionally aligned to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. It will pr ovide ongoing professional learning\, growth and support to the early care er teacher\, in addition to specific sessions that will equip their mentor to build rigour into this important role.
