The effectiveness of induction programs increases as the range of supports and strategies pr ovided increase\, with the best induction programs including practice-focu sed mentoring\, leadership contact\, participation in collaborative networ ks\, targeted professional learning\, observation and reflection on teachi ng\, practical information and time allocation.\n\nOf all the induction st rategies available\, practice-focused mentoring\, by one or more expert co lleagues\, is particularly powerful in supporting the transition of a teac her from the Graduate to Proficient career stage.\n\nThe 2022 program is i ntentionally aligned to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers . It will provide ongoing professional learning\, growth and support to th e ECT\, in addition to specific sessions that will equip their mentor to b uild rigour into this important role.
