Implementing Project Based Learning, day 2 of 3
9th May, 2019 @ 9:15 am
Date/Time:
09/05/2019 - 9:15 am - 3:30 pm
Description:
The AISSA is inviting Principals, leaders and teachers to participate in a project which develops PBL as a framework to promote student engagement and deep learning.
In partnership with the AISSA, schools will form networks collaborating with experts and each other to implement a scalable PBL model, that is contemporary and relevant to their specific focus area. In the first year of this project school teams will participate in 3 x full day workshops throughout the year followed by consultant support and networking opportunities that further each school’s learning. Using a change theory model, leaders and their teams will create a case for change that supports implementation and sustainability of PBL in their learning context.
As a member of a PBL Network, schools will also be provided with current research, tools for measuring impact, resources and an opportunity to form industry links connected to their area of focus.
This project is grounded in principles and strategies that have been successfully implemented in schools both nationally and internationally. Networks of schools will be formed depending on each school’s nominated focus area: The Primary Years, Middle Schooling, Secondary Years, HASS and STEM. Networking days will be scheduled following each of the workshops.
