SUMMARY:Financial Management for Non-Accountants: Improving your Financial 
 Literacy
DESCRIPTION:A workshop for aspiring\, new and established principals\n\nThi
 s workshop is designed for those leaders who have minimal financial traini
 ng or knowledge. It will focus on what leaders need to know\, what to look
  out for\, financial performance indicators and understanding budgets.\n\n
 This interactive workshop aims to build the capacity of leaders to better 
 understand school financials and will address basic theory and concepts an
 d the importance of school context in effective financial management.\n\nT
 he workshop will be practical and provide the opportunity for questions an
 d individual assistance.\n\nThis session will be presented by Paul Campey.
   As a Chartered Accountant (Fellow) and specialist consultant in the are
 as of governance\, leadership and financial management\, Paul has undertak
 en reviews and provided assistance to Schools\, Churches and Not for Profi
 ts in Australia and internationally\, as well as running Board and other t
 raining seminars. He is the co-founder of The Bursars Forum (www.bursarsfo
 rum.com) and currently serves on the ACSI Global Council and the Board of 
 Christian Heritage College (Tertiary). He has previously served on a numbe
 r of local and international boards. Paul has also co-authored the book Co
 mmunity Governance\, a practical guide to building healthy Non-Profit orga
 nisations. Prior to entering consulting in 2001 he was a Business Manager 
 and Company Secretary in two large Independent Schools. Before working in 
 schools and not for profits Paul was an auditor for 7 years with Coopers &
 amp\; Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers). Paul is currently undertaking 
 a PhD focused on School Governance.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nTarget audience: Aspirin
