SUMMARY:Financial Management for Non-Accountants: Improving your Financial
 Literacy\, governance session
DESCRIPTION:A workshop for aspiring\, new board members and those wishing
 to improve their financial literacy.\n\nThis workshop is designed for those
 board members who have minimal financial training or knowledge. It will
 focus on what board members need to know\, what to look out for\, financial
 performance indicators and understanding budgets.\n\nThis interactive
 workshop aims to build the capacity of boards to better understand school
 financials and will address basic theory and concepts and the importance of
 school context in effective financial management.\n\nThe workshop will be
 practical and provide the opportunity for questions and individual
 assistance.\n\nThis session willl be presented by Paul Campey.  As a
 Chartered Accountant (Fellow) and specialist consultant in the areas of
 governance\, leadership and financial management\, Paul has undertaken
 reviews and provided assistance to Schools\, Churches and Not for Profits
 in Australia and internationally\, as well as running Board and other
 training seminars. He is the co-founder of The Bursars Forum
 (www.bursarsforum.com) and currently serves on the ACSI Global Council and
 the Board of Christian Heritage College (Tertiary). He has previously
 served on a number of local and international boards. Paul has also
 co-authored the book Community Governance\, a practical guide to building
 healthy Non Profit organisations. Prior to entering consulting in 2001 he
 was a Business Manager and Company Secretary in two large Independent
 Schools. Before working in schools and not for profits Paul was an auditor
 for 7 years with Coopers &amp\; Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers). Paul
 is currently undertaking a PhD focussed on School
 Governance.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nTarget audience: New board members and those
