SUMMARY:Financial Management for Non-Accountants: Improving your Financial 
 Literacy\, governance session - (via Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:A Zoom session\nA workshop for aspiring\, new board members and
  those wishing to improve their financial literacy.\n\nThis workshop is de
 signed for those board members who have minimal financial training or know
 ledge. It will focus on what board members need to know\, what to look out
  for\, financial performance indicators and understanding budgets.\n\nThis
  interactive workshop aims to build the capacity of boards to better under
 stand school financials and will address basic theory and concepts and the
  importance of school context in effective financial management.\n\nThe wo
 rkshop will be practical and provide the opportunity for questions and ind
 ividual assistance.\n\nThis session willl be presented by Paul Campey.  A
 s a Chartered Accountant (Fellow) and specialist consultant in the areas o
 f governance\, leadership and financial management\, Paul has undertaken r
 eviews and provided assistance to Schools\, Churches and Not for Profits i
 n Australia and internationally\, as well as running Board and other train
 ing seminars. He is the co-founder of The Bursars Forum (www.bursarsforum.
 com) and currently serves on the ACSI Global Council and the Board of Chri
 stian Heritage College (Tertiary). He has previously served on a number of
  local and international boards. Paul has also co-authored the book Commun
 ity Governance\, a practical guide to building healthy Non Profit organisa
 tions. Prior to entering consulting in 2001 he was a Business Manager and 
 Company Secretary in two large Independent Schools. Before working in scho
 ols and not for profits Paul was an auditor for 7 years with Coopers &amp\
 ; Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers). Paul is currently undertaking a Ph
 D focussed on School Governance.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nTarget audience: New board
