SUMMARY:English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) Students in th
 e Mainstream Classroom: Curriculum Accessibility
DESCRIPTION:Ensuring accessibility and rigour for EAL/D students in mainstr
 eam classrooms requires intentional design and clarity regarding English p
 roficiency. This workshop intends to build the capacity of curriculum lead
 ers\, EAL/D and classroom teachers to support the inclusion of EAL/D stude
 nts within mainstream curriculum.\n\nPractical activities utilising the pa
 rticipant's own curriculum documents\, student materials and the Australia
 n Curriculum will build capacity to monitor English proficiency\, design a
 ccessible and rigorous curriculum\, and transfer new skills into their sch
 ool contexts.\n\nThe functionality and accessibility of v.9 of the Austral
 ian Curriculum for the purposes of inclusion will also be considered in th
 e workshop. Participants in varied stages of engagement with v.9 will util
 ise a range of curriculum materials\, ensuring learning is generalisable t
 o existing and future curriculum engagement\, including curriculum materia
 ls.\n\nPost workshop\, participants may elect to choose an area of interes
 t and continue planning their journey of improvement with the presenter.\n
