This workshop presented by S tephi West will equip participants to:\n\n further develop knowledge of e arly literacy and language development\n identify the literacy and langua ge proficiencies\, needs and development of students\n consider effective and proactive planning and teaching strategies and environments\n monito r and respond to student progress.\n\nStephi West is a Speech Pathologist with significant experience in the education sector specialising in suppor ting students with additional needs including autism spectrum disorders\, global developmental delay\, syndrome disorders and other intellectual dis abilities. Her approach is based on practical\, everyday integration of co re communication skills\, as well as involving the environment and relatio nships to build functional language\, vocabulary and interaction. Stephi h as extensive experience in the areas of language development\, behaviour s upport\, foundational skills of communication\, alternative communication strategies and combines the theories of well-known methods (including Inte nsive interaction\, Floortime\, Zones of Regulation\, SOS Approach to Feed ing and Circle of Security) to create an individualised ‘toolbox’ appr oach.
