DESCRIPTION:The cross-curriculum priorities that make up the third dimensio
 n of the Australian Curriculum ensure that content is current and relevant
 . These priorities give students the chance to focus on content with regio
 nal\, national and global significance” (AC v9).\n\nParticipants attendi
 ng this one day workshop will engage in learning that focuses on how the C
 ross-Curriculum Priorities can be used to enhance learning and teaching pr
 actice. Participants will work together to develop sequences of tasks in w
 hich the priorities are purposefully embedded to provide authentic and mea
 ningful contexts for the learning and to add depth to the content. Partici
 pants will be encouraged to trial relevant sequences of tasks between sess
 ions.\n\nThe online workshop will provide continued opportunity for learni
 ng and will specifically focus on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islande
 r Histories and Cultures Cross-Curriculum Priority.\n\nThis workshop will 
 also provide time for participants to explore the functionality and intera
 ctivity of the new Australian Curriculum website which supports teachers t
 o make purposeful connections between the three dimensions of the curricul
 um – the Learning Areas\, General Capabilities and Cross-Curriculum Prio
