SUMMARY:Financial Management for Non-Accountants - for Boards
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed for aspiring and new board members as
  well as those wishing to improve their financial literacy. The workshop w
 ill focus on what board members need to know\, what to look out for\, fina
 ncial performance indicators and understanding budgets. It aims to build t
 he capacity of board members to better understand school financials and wi
 ll address basic theory and concepts and the importance of school context 
 in effective financial management.\n\nPaul Campey is a Chartered Accountan
 t (Fellow) and specialist consultant in the areas of governance\, leadersh
 ip and financial management\, Paul has undertaken reviews and assisted sch
 ools\, churches and not for profits in Australia and internationally\, as 
 well as running board and other training seminars. He is the cofounder of 
 The Bursars’ Forum (www.bursarsforum.com) and currently serves on the AC
 SI Global Council and the Board of Christian Heritage College (Tertiary). 
 He has previously served on several local and international boards. Paul h
 as also co-authored the book Community Governance\, a practical guide to b
 uilding healthy non–profit organisations. Prior to entering consulting i
 n 2001\, he was a Business Manager and Company Secretary in two large inde
 pendent schools and was an auditor for seven years with Coopers and Lybran
 d (now Price Waterhouse Coopers). Paul is currently undertaking a PhD focu
