SUMMARY:Financial Management for Non-Accountants - for Boards
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed for aspiring and new board members as
 well as those wishing to improve their financial literacy. The workshop
 will focus on what board members need to know\, what to look out for\,
 financial performance indicators and understanding budgets. It aims to
 build the capacity of board members to better understand school financials
 and will address basic theory and concepts and the importance of school
 context in effective financial management.\n\nPaul Campey is a Chartered
 Accountant (Fellow) and specialist consultant in the areas of governance\,
 leadership and financial management\, Paul has undertaken reviews and
 assisted schools\, churches and not for profits in Australia and
 internationally\, as well as running board and other training seminars. He
 is the cofounder of The Bursars’ Forum (www.bursarsforum.com) and
 currently serves on the ACSI Global Council and the Board of Christian
 Heritage College (Tertiary). He has previously served on several local and
 international boards. Paul has also co-authored the book Community
 Governance\, a practical guide to building healthy non–profit
 organisations. Prior to entering consulting in 2001\, he was a Business
 Manager and Company Secretary in two large independent schools and was an
 auditor for seven years with Coopers and Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse
 Coopers). Paul is currently undertaking a PhD focused on School
