SUMMARY:What Boards need to know about Student Wellbeing and Bullying via Z
 oom
DESCRIPTION:This session for Board members will provide robust practical ev
 idence from Professor Cross’ research on student wellbeing and learning\
 , and the impact of bullying on individual students and the school communi
 ty. Professor Cross will share the essentials of effective whole school ap
 proaches and rigorously tested school-based interventions which improve so
 cial and emotional wellbeing and minimise bullying. She will help build a 
 deeper understanding of ways to identify and manage the inherent risks in 
 these areas for schools.\n\nProfessor Cross’ early research included ext
 ensive school-based health promotion research. She has published on child 
 health issues related to drug use\, nutrition\, road safety\, smoking and 
 bullying prevention. Professor Cross has worked tirelessly to improve the 
 health of our young people through research and community programs\, with 
 a focus on transferring knowledge from research evidence into policy and p
 ractice and bridging the gap between university research and school and co
 mmunity programs.\n\nA commitment to drawing the community’s attention t
 o the importance of investing in actions to strengthen the health and resi
 lience of children is at the core of Professor Cross’ work. She champion
 s positive\, whole-school approaches to children’s wellbeing.\n\n&nbsp\;
