SUMMARY:What Boards Need to Know About Child Protection
DESCRIPTION:Child protection is of paramount importance for every school bu
 t it is becoming increasingly complex with changes in State and Federal le
 gislation\, technology and social media. Boards need to have a shared unde
 rstanding and engage with and demonstrate their commitment to child safety
  to ensure a harmonious school environment where child safety is prioritis
 ed.\n\nConsideration needs to be given to the Australian Student Wellbeing
  Framework (2019) as well as the National Principles of Child Safe Organis
 ations (2018) which reflect the ten child safe standards recommended by th
 e Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse\, wi
 th a broader scope that goes beyond sexual abuse to cover other forms of p
 otential harm.\n\nThis session will delve into recommended best practice a
 pproaches that schools should consider from a strategic perspective when c
 onsidering child safety policy and procedures.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nTarget audien
