SUMMARY:Aboriginal Cultural Immersion Program 2025
DESCRIPTION:The 2025 East Arnhem Land Aboriginal Immersion Program is from
Sunday 17 August to Saturday 23 August. This successful program is in its
sixth year and the Association of Independent Schools of South Australia
(AISSA) is proud to partner with Culture College and the Association of
Independent Schools NSW.\n\nThis program offers the experience of
first-hand uniqueness of Aboriginal culture and provides opportunities to
deepen your understanding of Australia’s First Peoples\, the oldest
living cultures in the world. This will empower you to lead with greater
insight the reconciliation initiatives in your community and broaden your
understanding of the ways that First Nations’ perspectives can be
integrated into teaching and learning.\n\nSignificantly\, the program
contributes to providing the Yolngu people of East Arnhem Land with an
economically sustainable way of maintaining their culture on their
Homelands and builds true reconciliation through two-way learning.\n\nIt is
designed to provide school leaders\, boarding house supervisors\,
curriculum coordinators and educators in ELC and school settings with a
deeper intercultural understanding that can be shared with their school
communities. Schools are welcome to extend this invitation to a small
number of secondary students.\n\nAccommodation and Activities: The
Aboriginal Cultural Immersion Program will have participants engaging in a
range of hands-on activities which will include some of the following:
Yolngu language lessons\, kinship structures\, basket weaving\, bush tucker
and bush medicines\, making fire\, making traditional paint from clay\,
traditional dancing\, fishing and making jewellery. Full details are
available here.\n\nDesigned for: School Leaders and
 Educators.\n\nLocation: Nhulunbuy Region\, East Arnhem
Land.\n\nFacilitated by: Culture College.\n\nPrice: Cost per person is
$6\,050.00 (GST inclusive). A deposit of $1\,000.00 per person will be
required no later than 17 February 2025\, with final payment due 17 April
 2025.\n\nKey Dates: 17-23 August 2025.\n\nRegistration: To register\,
