About the High Impact School Improvement Tool

School improvement is both a regulatory requirement and a moral imperative because children are entitled to the best education we can provide in order to fully realise their unique potential.  Embarking on a school improvement journey requires a passionate desire on the part of leadership to improve teaching and learning and this desire must be underpinned by careful planning if improvement is to be achieved. School Principals must embrace and be prepared to drive the improvement process.

To support this vital work, the Association of Independent Schools of South Australia has developed the High Impact School Improvement Tool, designed to allow schools to enter the improvement journey through whichever focus is most appropriate in their context. It is recommended that Principals begin by engaging with the Research List, conducting a school self-assessment and then accessing one area for improvement from the High Impact School Improvement Matrix.

Our aim is to assist in building the professional capital of the Independent sector and we anticipate that the tool will grow and evolve as it records the richness and diversity of the improvement processes undertaken by our member schools.
