2011 Mentoring Beginning Teacher Program:
The AISSA Mentoring Beginning Teacher Program is designed for teachers in their first three years of teaching. It aims to provide practical classroom support as well as opportunities for participants to share early teaching experiences and to establish collegial networks. An important aim of the program is the development of sustained support for new teachers via the development of positive mentoring relationships at the school level.

BETTER TEACHER APPRAISAL AND FEEDBACK:

On Monday 1st August, 2011, Dr Ben Jensen delivered a presentation relating to his recent paper “Better Teacher Appraisal and Feedback: Improving Performance”.

Ben, currently the Director of the school education program at the Grattan Institute, spent five years at the OECD Education Directorate where he analysed effective education policies and programs developed in OECD countries. Much of Ben’s work concentrated on effective teaching practices, teacher management and school leadership, exploring their effect on school outcomes.

Below is a link to Ben’s presentation.
