Trade Skills Centres (TSC)

Metal Work

This Commonwealth Government Program was previously known as Trade Training Centres in Schools (TTCs). When it came to office in 2013 the Coalition Government decided not to fund any additional Centres other than those already approved, and changed the name of the Program to Trade Skills Centres (TSCs). Recently, a South Australian Independent school withdrew from the Program. This has provided a singular opportunity to use those funds to build one large Trade Skills Centre (TSC), or a number of smaller TSCs, or to upgrade an existing TTC or TSC, or to upgrade existing trade or vocational facilities to a TSC.

The amount available is $1,235,700, but the SAIS Block Grant Authority (BGA) will consider increasing this amount to approximately $1.3m by negotiation.

The AISSA Chief Executive emailed schools with Years 10, 11 and 12 an invitation to submit an Expression of Interest, and provided links to a number of Resources for schools to use when considering their response.
