Digital Education Revolution (DER)

Sunrise Christian School Marion Computer Room

The Digital Education Revolution (DER) was previously known as the National Secondary Schools Computer Fund (NSSCF).

The Digital Education Revolution (DER) provides funding to secondary schools to enable them to move to a 1:1 ratio of students to computers for all students in years 9 to 12.

Initial funding in Rounds 1, 2 and 2.1 provided funding for computers and associated on costs to allow all schools to reach a 2:1 ratio.

Completion date for this phase of the DER is December 2010.

Future DER funding will allow all schools to reach the 1:1 ratio expected under the DER.

All schools have been given an allocation of funding for computers and on costs based on enrolments.

Schools have until December 2011 to purchase and install computers for this phase of the DER.

All schools must provide to the BGA an expected roll out schedule for computers and on costs.

For all phases of the DER expenditure on computers and on costs must be submitted to the BGA to enable the grant to be paid.

Final Payment & Project Completion

After the full and final payment is received for each project an Accountant's Certificate is required for EACH project.  You must report each project separately eg. a separate Accountant's Certificate is required for Round 1 computers, Round 1 on costs, Round 3 computers etc.

The school is also required to sign off on "Australian Government Recognition" by completing the form below and submitting it to the BGA for each project involving the purchase of computers.

Stategic Plan

It is a condition of your funding for the NSSCF that you provide an ICT Strategic Plan for your school, a copy of which should be forwarded as soon as possible to the BGA. For schools with ICT plans under development, updated versions should be sent to the BGA as soon as they are available.
